Sixth Grade Music Experience
The Sixth Grade Music Experience course offers an exploration of the world of music, enriching your child's knowledge and appreciation of this art form. This comprehensive program covers a wide range of topics and skills that can be applied throughout their lives. For example, students will have the chance to design their own music festival as well as delve into the Elements of Music, gaining a solid understanding of melody, harmony, rhythm, texture, and form. Through the use of Chrome Music Lab's website, students will explore the intersection of music and technology and create their own compositions using Song Maker. Once they grasp the fundamentals of music creation in Chrome Music Lab, we will dive into podcasting using GarageBand.
In addition to these hands-on experiences, our goal is to promote a lifelong appreciation for diverse music styles and genres. Students will develop a foundation in Basic Music Theory and Music Literacy, enabling them to interpret music and explore different musical traditions. Their Critical Listening skills will sharpen, allowing them to discern nuances in music, appreciate the subtleties of various instruments and voices, and analyze musical compositions. Cultural Awareness will also be cultivated, as students understand and respect the cultural and historical significance of music from around the world, promoting global awareness and empathy. This course promises a well-rounded music education that inspires a lifelong love for music and equips students with valuable skills for their future endeavors.
Seventh Grade Music Experience
The Seventh Grade Music Experience course is a creative way for students to explore music and multimedia. They will have the opportunity to participate in activities like "Build a Band," where they can design a band name, plan a tour, choose a music genre, and even create their own band merchandise. Students will also learn more about music technology using GarageBand, building on what they learned in sixth grade and improving their digital music production skills. Students will produce an Audiobook and learn about sound in movies, discovering the role of Foley artists and creating their own sound effects. Students will talk to older generations and learn about how music has evolved over time through interviews. This course is designed to inspire creativity, improve technological skills, and introduce students to the diverse world of music and multimedia.

This Eighth Grade Music Experience course allows students to explore their musical preferences and develop a deeper understanding of their own taste in music. They will learn and improve their digital music production skills using GarageBand. Students will have the opportunity to create their own music for video games, engage in imaginary social media conversations with famous composers and musicians, and cultivate their own musical identity. This course will enhance their music production skills, broaden their knowledge of music, and have a lasting impact on their musical growth.
